• Type 310S is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel that has excellent oxidation resistance at higher temperatures. This alloy resists oxidation or scaling up to 2000°F Strength at elevated temperatures is similar to the other 18-8 types so stresses at elevated temperatures should be kept low. Corrosion resistance at room temperature is better than Type 304 due to its higher chromium and nickel content. This alloy is non-magnetic in the annealed condition and non-hardenable by heat treatment.
